Insect monitoring with glue traps

The use of sticky or glue traps is great for capturing insects and identifying them, locating them, determining the degree of infestation or reducing the population. To attract species, certain traps have a specific smell or color. Others have a pheromone (sexual attractant hormone) and others are glowing. However, it is important to choose the location to install the traps carefully. It is important to recognize conducive and vulnerable areas where there is humidity, food, point of entry, cracks and crevices, path taken or access to the structure of the building such as plumbing or heaters.

How many traps?

People often ask how many traps should be installed. When it comes to scented traps, the more traps you have and the more widely they are distributed, the greater your chances of detecting a problem quickly. However, the placement of your traps remains an important factor.

For pheromone traps, the number of traps required depends mainly on the size of the area and the level of infestation. As a general rule, one trap per room is recommended.
